Edge's Prospective: A sad day for democracy in Nigeria As Femi Fani-Kayode joins APC.....π±π°π±π°
Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, who was a very vocal member of the opposition party PDP has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He was presented to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of APC, and governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
FFK joined the ruling party months after romancing around with APC governors, including defending some of ministers and Federal Government’s policies.
Edge’s Prospective:
This criss-cross by political party members is shameful and unpatriotic, where is party ideoligy, loyalty and manifesto that each of this politicians believe. A political party is more than just a feeling or something you belong to when the going is good, its often the way the party members view life in general and the path they think is right for the country….. is PDP manifesto and ideology the same as APC… simple answer hell NO.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) needs to step in and put a stop to this ridiculous and insulting behaviour by politicians, I think there should be a law banning such party whoring, defection to another party on the promise of political protection is a bribe in itself and should be seen as a crime.
The Former Minister of Aviation that defected to APC today has said some of worst thing about the Buhari administration and APC, to turn around and defect to that same party speaks volumes on his character and the kind of man he is.
Below are some excerpts of his comments over the years…
I would rather die than join APC – Femi Fani-Kayode December 15, 2019
(Note: This article was first published October 21, 2018)
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart Chief Femi Fani-Kayode (now APC member) has said that he will rather die than join the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Fani-Kayode on his Twitter handle said that he was not taken aback that the Obanikoro and Iyiola Omisore have gotten their passports back from the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, and that they are now in the United State of America.
Fani-Kayode alleged that they joined the APC to avoid persecution
It really is a pity that @ShehuSani will not be going back to the Senate. He was a strong voice and a great advocate of justice and peace. How I wish he had left APC long ago and joined PDP. I have always had immense respect for him and he remains a good friend. I wish him well.

I am not surprised that @MObanikoro and @iyiomisore have got their passports back from the EFCC and are now in America.I do not blame them for joining the ruling party to avoid persecution. Some are strong whilst others are weak.I would rather die than join APC or bow to Buhari.

We must stay strong and focused and refuse to be distracted. We must enthrone justice, fair play and equal opportunities for every Nigerian regardless of his faith, ethnic nationality or circumstances of birth. Ours is to speak for the weak, the poor, the voiceless and the oppressed.

News Continues:
“Today at the State House, Abuja: Somebody has come and joined the APC. And a large-hearted and magnanimous President received him. Because that’s the essential Buhari for you,” a presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi, posted on Facebook attaching pictures of FFK and his boss.
The former chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party said “the Spirit of God” led him to taking a decision to join the ruling party.
The former minister said he would be assisting to build unity in the country.
He also claimed to be instrumental to the defection of some PDP governors and hinted that more opposition governors are being wooed.
