Edge's News: Visa-free entry agreement for Ghanaians travelling to UAE....A slap and shame to Nigeria
The United Arab Emirates has entered into a visa-free agreement with the Ghanaian government, following an approval by the parliament of the West African nation on Thursday.
Edge's View:
This comes a month after the Nigeria passport was ranked worse than ever under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime by London-based global citizenship and residency advisory firm, Henley and Partners.
But if truth be told what has Nigeria gain under this administration... nothing we've lost more than we've gain.. our currency the Naira is nearly nothing it has been on a downward spiral since Buhari became president.
All the assembled economic think-tanks know nothing about how to handle Nigerians economy. Your economic policies are crap yet you stand on it like a military operation. as a former a military man its normal to assess certain tactical moves before a battle and but once you notice such advantages has been lost, you withdraw and reassess...right?
CBN governor Godwin Emefiele is the worse of the them all... the only answer that this administration agrees on is that is the mismanagement of the past administration another word it is Jonathan Goodluck fault not the crappy team President Buhari put together... is it not common sense that if you try something and you don't see any changes for six months you change that approach.. but no not this administration they rally around in self deceit and self-aggrandisation.
Ghana has secure visa free travel to the United Arab Emirate (UAE) please permit me to ask which country is the most travel in Africa. The Buhari Presidency should be ashamed of themselves.. this is a massive slap in the face. You see the consequences of always portraying your citizens as lazy, criminals and fraudsters... it comes with a predetermine judgement from countries around the world. Nigerians have celebrated weddings, parties, and all sorts in Dubai more than any other African country.
News Continues:
Parliament has, on Thursday, August 5, 2021, approved a visa waiver agreement between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, Daily Graphic has reported.
This means that Ghanaian passport holders seeking to travel to Dubai will be permitted free entry into the UAE per the visa waiver agreement.
According to details as contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Ghana and the UAE, the agreement comes with a mutual exemption of entry visa requirements with respect to diplomatic, service/special, and ordinary passport holders.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, earlier in May this year presented the MoU before the House, which was subsequently referred for consideration to the Committee of Foreign Affairs of which a report was later presented in accordance with Order 140(4) and 183 of the Standing Orders of Parliament.
Bryan Acheampong, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, presenting the report before parliament, explained that both Ghana and the UAE showed commitment to further foster bilateral relations.
Acheampong revealed that the visa-free waiver agreement between the two countries does not come with obligations imposing Ghana-UAE to admit persons of questionable character into their terrains.
The agreement, the chairman said, also does not impose financial obligations or financial gains on the two countries from its implementation date.
Bryan Acheampong, however, clarified that the visa waiver agreement which will facilitate the travel of government officials and diplomats is common, except this new arrangement allows for ordinary passport holders to also benefit.
