Edge's News: The Federal Government of Nigeria threatens and spits fire as a Diplomat is assaulted in Indonesia

The Federal Government has threatened to review its relationship with Indonesia if it fails to bring the Indonesian immigration officials that assaulted a Nigerian diplomat to book.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, stated this at a briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

Nigeria’s ambassador to Indonesia has been summoned by the Federal Government to give a detailed account of the incident.

The victim, whose name was not mentioned, was manhandled and arrested by immigration officials on Saturday in front of his official quarters in the Asian country.

Edge’s View:

Nigeria's Government should not dare disgrace our Republic by just making noise and blowing hot, then going to handle this with kid gloves. Serious actions need to be taken as to stop the continuous ridicule of our citizens by every country on the planet, if its not Indonesia, its Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Dubai, Italy,… this will only stop when our government takes a stand to protect our citizens no matter the crime or infraction, The Roma Statute Article 66 Presumption of Innocence is a law.

When have you ever seen any US citizen or British citizen been treated in this manner and for a Diplomat to be man-handled like that? someone needs to lose their job like yesterday.

The viral video below of the event shows at least three men in a vehicle assaulting the official, ignoring his screams of pain.
